The Great Dane Assistance League, Inc is "a group dedicated to the advancement of the Great Dane breed with respect to proper medical care, socialization, education and ownership," and you'll find adoptable Danes, info on their organization, their supporters and more at gdali.org.

The Rocky Mountain Great Dane Rescue, Inc  was the first rescue we were involved with.  The Portraits of Greatness book  features Danes from RMGDRI; all events through August 2009 listed on this site were to benefit or in support of RMGDRI.  They are a larger rescue, currently five states and expanding, and offer lots of great resources and information through their website and events alike.  Find out more at rmgreatdane.org.

Big Dogs Huge Paws is not an exclusive Great Dane Rescue - but they help our beloved Gentle Gians, earning them a place on this Great Dane Rescue Group page!  "Big Dogs Huge Paws was founded on the core philosophy is that every "BIG" dog deserves a chance. Our goal is to make sure that every dog receives only the best of care, food, and training. We will also ensure that they are properly evaluated (medically and behaviorally) and placed according to their special needs."  Find out more about Big Dogs Huge Paws, all the breeds they rescue and more at bigdogshugepaws.com .

Because there's lots of love nationwide for our loving, sweet, often misunderstood Gentle Giants, learn more about the rescues outside of the Colorado-Nebraska-Kansas-New Mexico-Wyoming region below.

Beyond Colorado... To Tennessee!  ~ Meet the Smoky Mountain Great Dane Rescue.

Smoky Mountain Great Dane Rescue: "Live. Love. Adopt a Great Dane!"

Visit Smoky Mountain Great Dane Rescue's fun, interactive website to learn more!  SmokyMountainGreatDaneRescue.org

Smoky Mountain Great Dane Rescue  serves Knoxville, TN and surrounding areas.

"Great Danes are extremely sensitive and loving animals, they become an enormous and integral part of the family and it is a joy just to be in their presence. Because of their size they can be easily misunderstood. As with any giant breed dog, special attention should be given to their training and care. Behaviors found acceptable in smaller sized animals are certainly not in a dog of this great size and stature. With this in mind Smoky Mountain Great Dane Rescue Inc.  chooses to understand the specific needs of each Great Dane in an effort to match them with the best possible forever home."
